About The Speaker

Sue MacLaurin
Sue MacLaurin:
Susan (Sue) has facilitated group-learning environments in India, Australia, Mexico, and the U.S.A. She has worked with groups in Japan and England; and across Canada including New Brunswick, Quebec, Ontario and Alberta. She has worked in hi-tech for 20 years and she was President of Ourspace Inc for 14 years. As an entrepreneur Sue has been President of her own company, Ourspace Incorporated since January 1994.

Her expertise as a credible and authentic adult facilitator is known throughout the Ottawa area. And this expertise funnelled her into the Sprott School of Business, Carleton University for four years becoming prime with facilitating over half a dozen professional development programs. She was also awarded the role of Project Manager for several longer term Sprott projects, demonstrating their view of her competence and trustworthiness. Her most recent request was from Ottawa University's President of the Student Federation.

Sue has been formally educated as a facilitator of Adult Learning; in addition she has completed an Organization Development certificate program through National Training Labs in U.S, which compliments her decades of facilitation experience.

Sue's credo of encouraging participants to develop self-awareness plays out particularly well in a diverse environment; for participants she encourages them to discover their tendencies in both personal and professional life and how this new knowledge will assist them in their life goals. She has been called authentic, enthusiastic, funny, honouring and respectful. She is a consistent team player and role models what she expects from others particularly respectful feedback and listening skills.

Sue and her husband David and George the cat live in Brockville. Where she continues her need for involvement and creativity, she also retired from making jewellery to being a a Silpada Designs Jewellery Representative, a love and opportunity she cherishes.

Sue retired from the Consulting business formally in 2008, however for special requests she does surface to address specific human-business dynamic issues and specific fund raising activities.
